Farhad Foroutanian Original Arts

Farhad Foroutanian
My artistic journey began in 1978 after graduating from the School of Fine Arts. Although my early career led me into advertising, my passion for painting remained constant and continued to guide my path.
In 1986, I moved to the Netherlands, where I rediscovered painting as a creative refuge and became active within the local art community. A later trip to Italy sparked a new chapter, bringing fresh inspiration, new audiences, and the honor of being named Best Painter of Emilia-Romagna in 1998.
After several successful exhibitions in Ferrara, I returned to the Netherlands in 2000 for family reasons. There, I expanded my practice into illustration and cartooning, contributing to major publications and participating in more than 70 exhibitions.
From 2004 to 2014, regular visits to Iran allowed me to reconnect with my roots, leading to well-received exhibitions in Tehran. I lived in Iran from 2014 to 2019, showcasing both paintings and 2.5D sculptures, before returning once again to the Netherlands.
Today, my work spans abstraction. Each phase reflects a lifelong journey of exploration, resilience, and creative reinvention.
